This sculpture ‘Lotus Heart’ is authentic and genuine work of art, interpreting traditional Kashmir Paper Mache motifs in contemporary language created by the artist Fayaz Ahmad Jan, at state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The design inspiration is drawn from dal lake of the Kashmir valley blooming with lotus flowers covering the three dimensional surface of the sculpture.

About Art:
“Kashmir Paper Mache” handicraft was brought to medieval India from Persia in the 14th century, is protected under the Geographic Indication Act 1999 of Government of India. The popular designs include flowers and numerous floral patterns, birds, jungle and its scenes, the majestic Chinar tree of Kashmir and intricate geometrical patterns.
About Artist:
Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Jan (b 1965), is Padma Shri (2019) awardee, the fourth highest civil award in India for his outstanding work in handicrafts and paper Mache. He has participated in various workshops across the world including US, Europe, Middle East and Asia. His work is prominently displayed at Jaya He museum at T2, Mumbai International Airport.
